Our 20016-2107 team rosters have been posted on our website. Go to www.westhalifaxcheer.com/team-roster and find your number. A few things:
- If you do not remember your number, email email@example.com and we’ll provide it to you.
- If you do not see your number, it has been omitted accidentally. Please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll be sure that you’re placed on an appropriate team.
The WHC Board of Directors are Erica Royal, Jana Nickerson, and Ashley Astephen. We all work full-time day-jobs, so please be patient with the timing of our responses, but we aim to reply to all emails within 24 hours.
Now that you’re a member of our amazing Cheer Family, here is the schedule as planned for the summer months. Our summer training will begin the week of June 13, 2016; this is highly recommended, but not mandatory. Note that teams practices are only once per week between June, July and August.
Absence Reporting: If you will not be attending practice, please email firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as you’re able. This will ensure you will reach all our coaches and staff at the same time.
On September 1, 2016, our practices become Mandatory in preparation for our competitive season. Each team will practice 2 x per week. This schedule will continue until the end of our season, which is May 13-14, 2017.
**You will be notified of additional Mandatory Choreography Sessions once dates have been solidified. It’s typically 1-2 days per team for a couple of hours. These will take place in the fall (September and October, and sometimes November).

Generally, an email will be sent out to everyone once per week with the news/updates/important information that you will be required to know. It’s usually by mid-week, so if you are not receiving these emails, please let us know.
We also have a FaceBook group for all our athletes and their parents:

WHC is also on Twitter (Please follow us as @WestHaliCheer), and we also use our website for communication (if you click on “Parent Portal – all our weekly emails are stored there, please login with the password westhalilife). WHC also has an Instagram account. Practices pictures, special event updates, coaches shout-outs, weather cancellations, new pro-shop items and competition pictures will be updated regularly through all forms of communication.
Emergency Cancellation/Group Texting: WHC also has an emergency cancellation group text that we use to communicate practice cancellations (due to in-climate weather). To sign up to receive these texts, please go here.
Email Distribution List: Please be patient with us as we sort through the registration information and get the proper email distribution lists set up. If you know someone who didn’t receive this email, please email me (email@example.com) and update our distribution lists.
Team Managers (Team Moms): We will be assigning a team manager (or a few) per team. We are working on this now and should be able to communicate this before practices begin next week. These moms and dads will be able to answer all your questions about the new season and take payments in the Orange Dome.
Coaches in Training: We will be assigning Coaches in Training (or several) per team. We are working on this now and should be able to communicate this before practices begin next week.
Returnables: Please fill out your returnables forms at your first practice. If you do not have a package, you can get one in the gym at your first practice.
Payments/Accounting: We are working with a new format for accounting this year. WHC’s account managers are Sasha Jardine (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Aimee Landry (email@example.com) and myself (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Generally, we send statements to everyone once per month (approximately the first week of the month) that will have everything up-to-date as of the end of the previous month. For example, you may receive a statement July 15 that has everything up to date on your statement as of June 30th. However, at any time, you can email me or Aimee or Sasha for information regarding your account. We accept payments in the gym via cash or check or debit/credit. You can also pay through our website using the PayPal link (you do not need a PayPal account – you can pay with credit card through this link as well). You can also email transfer payments to email@example.com.
