Notices for Tuesday, March 22, 2016

Hi everyone

Happy March Break! Hope you had a wonderful break!

This week practices are Closed.

Easter Sunday: There will be no Innovation, Wonder, or Prodigy practice this Sunday, March 27, 2016 due to Easter Sunday.

Easter Monday: There will be regular practices on Easter Monday night, March 28 due to Cheer Expo being April 2-3.

Halifax Cheer Expo: The Cheer Expo schedule has been posted on our website. Please realize that times are different on Saturday & Sunday. Please look closely for your specific times.

Floor moving for Expo: As some of you know, we are obligated to bring our 9-strip 54×42 spring floor to Cheer Expo, along with 9 additional mats, for the purposes of the competition. It is this agreement that allowed us to be able to purchase the springs on our second floor for our athletes to practice on earlier than we would have if we did it on our own. We would love to have some parents help with the transport and set up, and tear down of the floor! Here is the schedule/plan. If you’re able to help with any of these times, please advise, and we can add you to the list when we make sure we have enough people! Many hands make light work, so anything you can offer is very much appreciated.

Thursday, March 31, 2016: After LOVE practice at 9:30 pm, we will pack up the floor and load it onto the U-Haul truck which we are renting for the weekend (i.e. no waiting for it to show up!).

Friday, April 1, 2016 at 7:30 am at the Halifax Forum: We will meet at the Halifax Forum on Friday morning at 7:30 am to unload the truck and to set up the floor. I am planning to do this, and then go into work afterwards. If we have sufficient people, this should take approximately 1 hour.

Sunday, April 3, 2016 after Cheer Expo final awards (5ish pm): Load truck at the Halifax Forum with our floor, and then unload it at the Orange Dome.

If you’re able to help with any of the above times, please let us know! If you already told me through FaceBook you don’t have to again! J

Theme week: The week of March 21 – 27 will be “Bows over Bros” week.  Wear your favourite bow to practice this week!! This week, March 26, is also “Wear Purple for Epilepsy Awareness” which is a cause WHC has supported for many years, as the founder for Purple Day is a former WHC Athlete, Cassidy McCarthy. To continue to support Purple Day for Epilepsy, athletes are also encouraged to wear purple at their last practice this week, along with the Bow theme.

Practices during Florida week for non-travelling teams: WHC staff are putting together some practice times for the teams who are not going to Florida. We have very few staff on site, as most of the coaches are going to Florida as either coaches or athletes. However, we will do our best to put together a schedule so everyone can still get some time in the gym! Stay tuned for that.

Thanks everyone.

Erica, Jana, and Ashley
