Hello, and welcome to West Halifax Cheerleading!

The teams have been posted on our website. Go to www.westhalifaxcheer.com/team-roster and find your number. A few things:

  •  If you do not remember your number, email info@westhalifaxcheer.com and we’ll provide it to you.
  • If you do not see your number, it has been omitted accidentally. Please e-mail info@westhalifaxcheer.com and we’ll be sure that you’re placed on an appropriate team.
  • If you have an issue with your placement, please email info@westhalifaxcheer.com, but as our website says, please keep in mind that a lot of work and consideration goes into the placements, not just skill alone. Please let us know if you would like further clarification on the process.

The WHC Board of Directors is Erica Royal, Jana Nickerson and Ashley Astephen. We all work full time day-jobs, so please be patient with the timing of our responses, but we aim to reply to all emails within 24 hours.

Now that you’re a member of our amazing Cheer Family, here is the schedule as planned for the summer months, starting on Monday, July 6, 2015.  Note that teams practice once per week for July & August, but then practices are augmented to twice per week starting in September 2015.

 

Mondays (July & August):

Brilliance: 6:00 pm – 7:15 pm

Adore: 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

Love: 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Precision: 7:45 pm – 9:15 pm

 

Tuesdays (July & August):

Wonder: 6-6:45 pm

Innovation: 6-7 pm

(Wonder & Innovation’s practices will be moved to Sundays starting in September, but we put them on a weekday in the summer to allow for weekend away trips).

 

Wednesdays (July & August):

Prodigy: 6 pm – 7 pm

Devotion: 6 pm – 7:15 pm

Ambition: 7:15 pm – 8:45 pm

Charm: 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm

 

Thursdays (July & August):

Passion: 6 pm – 7:15 pm

Courage: 6 pm – 7:15 pm

Unity: 7:30 pm – 8:45 pm

Charisma: 7:30 – 9:00 pm

 

 

The schedule for September 2015-May 2016 is as follows. This is as final as we can make it as of today, however, please keep in mind that it may change (hopefully not) by the fall.

Ongoing Communication:

Generally, an email will be sent out to everyone once per week with the news/updates/important information that you will be required to know. It’s usually by mid-week, so if you are not receiving these emails, please let us know.

 

We also have a FaceBook group for all our athletes and their parents (West Halifax Cheer: https://www.facebook.com/groups/52440255018/, and a FaceBook group just for moms and Dads (https://www.facebook.com/groups/169657699764497/).  We will be creating groups specifically for each team, stay tuned for those. Please take a few minutes to join our groups.

 

WHC is also on Twitter (Please follow us as @WestHaliCheer), and we also use our website, www.westhalifaxcheer.com, for communication.  Practices pictures, special event updates, coaches shout-outs, weather cancellations, new pro-shop items and competition pictures will updated regularly through all forms of communication.

Please be patient with us as we sort through the registration information and get the proper email distribution lists set up. If you know someone who didn’t receive this email, please email me (erica@westhalifaxcheer.com) and update our distribution lists.

 

Team Moms: We will be assigning a team mom (or a few) per team. We are working on this now and should be able to communicate this in the near future. These moms will be able to answer all your questions about the new season and take payments in the Orange Dome.

 

Returnables: Please fill out your returnables forms at your first practice. If you do not have a package, you can get one in the gym at your first practice.

Payments/Accounting: We are working with a new format for accounting this year. WHC’s account managers are Sasha Jardine (sashaj@westhalifaxcheer.com) and Aimee Landry (aimee@westhalifaxcheer.com). Generally, we are planning to send statements to everyone once per month (approximately mid-month) that will have everything up-to-date as of the end of the previous month. For example, you may receive a statement July 15 that has everything up to date on your statement as of June 30th. However, at any time, you can email me or Aimee or Sasha for information regarding your account. We accept payments in the gym via cash or check (and sometimes through the use of the “square” visa machine – I have more of these on order). You can also pay through our website using the PayPal link (you do not need a PayPal account – you can pay with credit card through this link as well). You can also email transfer payments to erica@westhalifaxcheer.com.
